Bakeries waste tons of food every day. Everything in a bakery needs to be produced in advance and demand is extremely hard to predict, resulting in massive amounts of food waste. In this episode of Stories from the Workshop, Meredydd speaks to Mark Breuß who grew up in the bakery business and realised that bakers need smarter tools to make better decisions.
Armed with a degree in Data Science but no web development experience, Mark used Anvil to build Mark.One, an all-in-one software for bakeries to maximise profits and reduce food waste. With Anvil, Mark was able to build his entire software in a year and launch his business.
