Not possible to add column to table

I have a few tables with quite a lot of data. When I try to add a new column to any of those tables in the editor (beta) nothing happens. I first thought it could be due to tables being shared between solutions but it also happens to tables that only are used in one solution. I’ve seen this question raised a few times before so I hope there is a fix. I’ve also tried to create the missing column from python but despite having opened for columns to be automatically created if missing, i still get an error message telling “automatic column creation is disabled”

I’ve tested in the old editor as well. Same result there. I cannot add columns to most of the tables. Regardless if they are shared or not. There are quite a few similar requests all marked as solved but its not obvious for me what the solution was. Any help would be much appreciated as I’m stuck for the moment.

In all of those you linked, the solution was for the Anvil folks to fix whatever bug was causing the problem.

To help the Anvil folks narrow down the cause of the issue, it helps if you can provide a clone link for a project that exhibits the problem, and to clarify if it’s all tables, only some tables, etc. There might be something in the makeup of the tables that are having issues.

For what it’s worth, I’m not having the issue in my projects, so it’s definitely not something global that affects all apps/tables.

Thanks for the update. I’m not able to recreate the problem in a new app so I guess the problem is related to a few particular tables with data I cannot share in a clone link. I guess the next step would be to email support directly. It’s good to hear its not a common problem.
