Anvil Alternatives

Which are Anvil Alternatives or similar solutions ?

What I’m trying to do:
In case if i get stuck somewhere with Anvil, i can switch to different platform based on project need.

IMO Honestly - nothing compares!

I have tried a fair few others and there was always something missing. So far that hasn’t been a problem with Anvil for me. Between the open source runtime, the built in data tables, the uplink, the numerous package and integrations Luke google and stripe, the ability to add CSS and JS and Anvil Extras - what more could you want?

What is it you are trying to do that you think you may have to switch platforms?

Thanks Rick.
It is just a wish list: (Some points may be due to my limited knowledge, so please correct if i am wrong somewhere)

  • I think Anvil has limitation on table size i.e 100 Rows. Amazon HoneyCode table size is more than 100. Anvil data table doesn’t allow bulk copy & pasting values.

  • (Not tried, but i guess) User(with Free plan) dont have access to many Python Module/libraries.

  • (taking this chance to boost up my unresolved query) Drag and drop - User interactivity

trust me, your search is over. There is nothing like Anvil. You can run code online with somehting like repl.it or pythonanywhere but it doesn’t scratch what anvil can do.

As far as I know you can have way more rows than just 100 (unless you’re talking about a free account or something)

don’t worry, let go, and see what you can make with anvil - or as I call it ‘the worlds best lego kit’

Try 50,000 rows! See Anvil | Pricing Plans

With Uplink, you can use any library for free, albeit on your own machine. You could also host your own Anvil server and use any Python you want that way if you don’t want to pay for the Anvil-hosted version.

Anvil has 50K rows limit which is basically enough for a starting project. By the time you cross this 50K limit, your website will have enough users to think about a plan upgrade. So, rows are something you may not have to worry.

And the cost to get on to a paid plan is more than reasonable! Thank you Anvil!!

Like @michaellavers so eloquently put it, your search is over!!

Agree with @michaellavers !
For everyone new to this thread - Before I found Anvil I spent several weeks researching finding a fullstack web app drag and drop builder and you will not find nothing that great like Anvil!!

The only framework that “compares” might be Remix.js, but there are no graphical ui editor so have to design the ui with raw html and css.
My opinion is that the we have a new era with ui editors, the focus should not be spending several hours coding raw html and css.

Anvil is awesome !! I frequently get stuck ( after banging my head on the wall), I break down
and put up a clone link ( sometimes embarrassing myself as i am not a professional programmer
just happened to have spent 40 years working in IT) . Usually ( sometimes within minutes ) a very
valuable lesson ( think university level CS ) a crew of unbelievably smart people @rickhurlbatt @hugetim
@divyeshlakhotia @stucork @jshaffstall and others i have certainly left out, are there to “educate” and provide solutions ( and always solutions to whatever your lack of knowledge gets you stuck !!). And remember $15 bucks a month for individual plan is still cheaper than a beer at the ( whatever they are calling Bills Stadium these days.)

Keep up the great work Anvil folks …
