Incremental Google permissions requests

In order to send email through Gmail, Anvil is requesting access to Google Drive. Is this intended behaviour, and can those permissions be trimmed down a bit?

Hi @sjd333,

That’s correct - currently, the Google service requests permissions all at once rather than incrementally.

I’ve move this thread to feature requests - tailoring the requested permissions might be helpful.

Thanks Bridget. l’ll have to discount free plan email as ‘unusable’ for the time being. As much as I love you folks - I can’t justify giving away full control over a separate Google service to send a handful of emails.

Hi Sam,

You can send emails on the free plan by setting a custom SMTP server in the Email service.
