Anvil app hosting through Hostgator

I want to host my Anvil web app through Hostgator. Is it possible to do so? Or the only option that I have is to go with Anvil Plans?

I’m not familiar with Hostgator but Anvil’s runtime server is open source. This means you can run it wherever you like for free!!!

Hostgator is the web hosting site. Where we can host our websites and they provide us domains like .com, .org, and so on.
So what I’m asking is that can we use that to host our Anvil web app?

There’s a section on popular domain registrars. Hostgator is not one of the example hosting sites but the work flow won’t be too far off.

You would need a plan different from a normal shared hosting plan. You’d need a plan that gives you a virtual Linux machine you can install the Anvil open source platform onto. Host Gator calls these sorts of plans VPS Hosting (Dedicated Hosting would also work, but is way more expensive).
