Hi there,

Just thought I would start a fun conversation about “What’s your favorite GUI component in Anvil?” and why?

For me, I’d never think the Spacer component would be such a life-saver. That Spacer has helped me design my webpage in seconds. I used that thing all the time. Anyways, this Anvil platform is great for beginners like me because it kind of reminds me of the VB language back in the day where it relied on GUI interfaces as well. I think that is why I chose this platform.

Maybe Flow Panels?

They are really helpful for various kinds of menus and are quite good at aligning items. The recent improvements to flow panels (including the expand property and vertical_align) have made them a really useful component.

Datagrid! My go-to for meat and potatoes work. Every day a datagrid.

Not a single component, but Custom Components as a whole. They save me so much time by being able to encapsulate any kind of UI or functionality I want!

RichText.

I have even created my own alert2 custom component, so alerts have a RichText.

Oh, yeah, and custom components of course.
