I haven’t found the available quota for sending emails on this or any other page.
Unfortunately, if we allowed free accounts to send email out-of-the-box, we’d be overrun with spammers in no time! So Free accounts can only send email via a custom SMTP server (ie, if they already have their own mechanism for delivering email).
(And yes, we’re working on consolidating all those quotas into one place!)
Hi Stefano
for what it’s worth, I have been using mailjet free plan for almost 1 year by now, and it works quite well.
Allowing a few per month would be of great help (maybe if we can specially request it?). I am still trying to test if Anvil is worth our business jumping into. Unfortunately, feature lock ups make this difficult. Anyways, so far I have had a fantastic experience.
Good news: you can still build and test apps using the Email Service! If you’re on the Free plan, you’re always in Test Mode – this means all emails are redirected to the email address associated with your Anvil account – but they still send! Perhaps the docs should make this more clear
Plus, of course, as is mentioned up-thread, you can sign up for a free external email provider and use them if you want; we just really do not want to deal with the hassle of “being a free account to send email from”.
