Unable to post a public link to my app on facebook

What I’m trying to do:
I have completed my app on a free tier and wanted to post a public link on facebook. However, I’m being informed that anything with anvil.app is banned due to spam policies in facebook. I was surprised I haven’t seen any other posts here mentioning this. Is it a recent thing?

What I’ve tried and what’s not working:
I have tried pasting my public URL into a regular facebook post, and I’ve tried using a tinyurl. I can post a link in facebook messenger, but clicking on it gives you an error that the link you tried to share is against the facebook community policies.

My app is a silly fantasy novel title generator: https://fantasynovelgenerator.anvil.app/

Hello and welcome to the Anvil community

I can’t say I have shared anything on Facebook but I am sure that others will be able to help.

I would assume that adding a custom domain to your app would get around this problem but you would need to upgrade to the Individual plan. I like the way your app generates the titles with individual fonts - if only I were an author!

I remember running into this exact problem when I first started here! We’ve submitted the appeal form to Facebook, so the ball is in their court.

In the meantime, I’ve used TinyURL to share apps that end with .anvil.app; custom domains ought to work just fine.

Also, I love your app! I’m very tempted to keep clicking til it generates something that I already have on my shelf

It seems the tinyurl can’t be posted to my timeline. I can share in messenger and the link only works if the person is on their mobile. If they’re on the desktop, it will tell them the link is restricted by the spam policy as well. I did, of course, protest the designation, so hopefully it will help your case.

LOL I’m working on a writing community where users can post their novels. Your app might be useful
