[off topic] Create live/install USB of my current Ubuntu setup

Just on the offchance someone here has done this …

I want to take a snapshot of my new laptop with all my default apps & environment installed and put it on a USB stick, so I can both use it as a bootable live OS and a ready to go install stick.

There are a few about, but as it’s all essentially voodoo I have to trust they do nothing nasty. Plus most of them haven’t been updated in a while, and I don’t know what the implications of that are, either.

I’m running Ubuntu 20.4, and the two most up to date ones I’ve found are :

You might want to ask that on one of the irc channels on libera.net I believe there’s an Ubuntu channel.

There are also some good people on the UK Python Community channel on matrix and pretty much any topic is OK there: Get Involved | The UK Python Association
