My first code using an LLM API

I’ve been wanting to try out the API for OpenAI’s or another frontier LLM, and py.space finally gave me the excuse:

It makes use of this nascent wrapper library around Anthropic’s Claude: GitHub - AnswerDotAI/claudette: Claudette is Claude's friend

I’ve disabled the API key for now, but as an example, here’s what it currently returns for today where I am:

Here’s an interesting fact about May 6th:
On May 6, 1937, the German passenger airship Hindenburg burst into flames and crashed while attempting to land at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey. The disaster, which was captured on film and radio, killed 35 of the 97 people on board and one member of the ground crew. The cause of the Hindenburg disaster remains a subject of debate, but it marked the end of the era of passenger airship travel.
The Hindenburg explosion was a major tragedy that was witnessed by many and became one of the most famous disasters in history, with the dramatic radio report by Herbert Morrison (“Oh, the humanity!”) being widely remembered. The dramatic footage and audio recordings of the event have made it an iconic moment in 20th century history.
