How to Contact Support for Custom Domain

What I’m trying to do:
I sent an email to support@anvil.works but not getting a response after about a day or two. I get a redirect error and my app isn’t showing on the custom domain. I read that there is some manual process in generating a ssl.

Do I just keep waiting or is there some other avenue of contacting them to process my custom domain.

While you’re waiting, just to be sure, have you set the domain up according to the docs?

Probably, this Forum is the right place to solicit help. What have you tried? What is the URL you are trying to use?

this is my url https://app.tradebotsecrets.com/
still hasn’t resolved.

As a first check, I pinged that domain, and it resolves to an IP address that is different from Anvil’s address (as shown in the docs that were linked above).

It looks like your DNS records are not setup correctly. That’s not something that Anvil helps with, you have to do that on your domain registrar. The manual step (setting up the SSL certificate) happens after you have the domain setup correctly.

Once you make the changes at your registrar, it can take up to 48 hours for those changes to propagate to all the DNS servers. That’s not on the Anvil end, just how DNS works.

ok i fixed it, i removed the cloudflare proxy and that help point to the right address. just need a ssl certificate now

That’s the part that you wait for Anvil support to do. You should get an email when it’s done.

Its probably been about 48 hours and its still waiting for ssl? is this normal or am i not patient enough?

The DNS change has to propagate before Anvil staff can do the SSL certificate. The DNS change alone can take that long to find its way to all the DNS servers (individual DNS servers will get it more quickly).

I don’t know any details about how the Anvil staff manages the SSL certificates, so can’t comment on how long that might take.

In practice several days after the DNS change isn’t unusual. If you’re worried about it, though, email support@anvil.works to check on it.

Looks like it’s working now, anyway.
