GDPR. TOS and US based companies

I didn’t really see anything about GDPR in the TOS, but I’m curious how this all plays out.

Do anvil apps, built in the US, and deal with US only customers, have to be GDPR compliant? I know my friends across the pond are going through a messy divorce, but honestly having to deal with GDPR at all is such a cost and headache, I’ve decided to explicitly not do business with any business that would require me to be GDPR compliant.

Chasing small margins so bueurcrats can pat themsleves on the backs without having to deal with the consequences (pricing out small business competitors by having arbitrary rules only large corporations can comply with) isn’t how I’m going to spend my life.

I’m not too savvy on international law so I was hoping the folks at Anvil could speak directly to this potential issue without having to hire a lawyer to untangle it.

@meredydd.

@meredydd, I’d like some kind of answer on this please.
