Hey guys quick question…
I have an anvil app that I published using a custom domain using go daddy.
Only one A record in DNS:
Type = A
Name = @
Value = 52.56.203.177
TTL = 600 seconds
I have my domain name put in my app.
Whenever I go to (not the real domain name btw) www.mydomainname.com, it goes to the anvil homepage…
Any ideas?
Have Anvil confirmed the domain is set up yet? They send an email when it’s ready.
The process is not quite 100% automatic yet. They get an alert when someone enters a new custom domain but a person as to “do something” before it will work.
Usually takes a few hours, but being Christmas I guess it might take slightly longer.
According to the official docs, it might take 48 hours. It’s worth waiting for a while

DNS changes take a while to propagate around the internet, so you may need to wait up to 48 hours before your changes fully take effect.
No not yet. This is pretty disappointing that it takes so long and isn’t automated.
No, I’m getting blocked by my antivirus saying
“Your connection to this web page is not safe due to an unmatching security certificate.
This means that the certificate was issued for a different web address than the one it is being used for, and you run the risk of exposing your data by accessing this page.”
I’m contacting Anvil support. Probably something I did wrong, but we’ll see.
How about trying another browser or private tab. I got quite similar issue before as well
I talked to anvil support. There was some glitch going on and they pushed it through. Still disappointed this is a manual process and takes so long.
