In “Show and Tell” we get various wonderful (and free) apps and custom components.
What tends to happen over time is that the clone links will get broken, not maintained by the original people, and can be a bit of a pain to find exactly where it was without the use of bookmarks.
What I’m proposing is the optionality for submitters to post to a separate part of the Anvil website (not the forms in this case) called Community Components which would have the following benefits.
Durability:
This section will host the clone links and code by Anvil, so if the person falls of the face of the earth or breaks something.
Searchability:
Right now “Show and Tell” is a bit of a mix of closed and open source code, as well as just components and full apps. I’d like to see the UI for search use something super clean and snappy like Commands | Redis
Showcase for Anvil:
Anvil will have to curate this list for quality. So what do they get in return for fulfilling my wishes and taking on new work?
Show off a thriving userbase, what you can build with the product, and what you get out of the box for free for people who are interested in the product. Win win
