I am constantly having this error when trying to Launch Server REPL.

anvil.server.ExecutionTerminatedError: Server code exited unexpectedly: cc48796db1

Is this something from anvil side or is there something else wrong?

That’s up to Anvil’s support team. Depending on how important this is to your efforts, you might want to email them directly.

I have the same issue when trying to launch a server REPL. My apps are still working fine.

Did your issue get resolved? I have just e-mailed support.

For what it’s worth, I just tried it with one of my apps. No problem starting up. So it may be something specific to your server-side code.

Thank you for trying. REPL was working recently and I haven’t changed anything.

The error message actually begins with Downlink worker socket got unrecognised message: followed by a host of information about my app, with the anvil.server.ExecutionTerminatedError coming at the end.

I get the same error (with different app information) when trying to launch REPL from any of my 4 apps.

I’m pleased to report that REPL is now working on all of my apps. Thank you to anyone who fixed this in the background!

Sorry about this, and thanks for your patience. As @craig has already noticed, it’s now fixed.

In my case neither the REPL nor the app itself are working. Both still crash.

It may take some time for heavily-used server environments to rotate to the fixed version. If this is still happening in a few hours, please post your app ID and we’ll take a look. Thanks!

Update: Still happening as of now.

Edit: Still the same. Sent my info to support@anvil.works earlier already. :+1:

Now also the internal email module keeps crashing.

Still crashing. This is really unfortunate.

Edit: Seems to be a Python 2.7 issue. Switching to Python 3 (after converting hundreds of old print statements) seems to at least get the server to run.

I was also experiencing this issue yesterday (Friday) pm. Things were working fine today until about 1530GMT but I am just getting the same error again when I try to run functions in the REPL.
