I am a self-taught developer with twenty years experience in creating software tools for the Natural Resource field, specifically mapping and GIS systems. I started learning software code back in 2001 with Visual Basic 6.0 and Excel VBA. I spent several years learning web technologies such as the LAMP stack and JavaScript, but found my calling when I discovered Python in 2015. I was drawn to Anvil because of it’s similar Visual Basic drag-and-drop interface, with the power of Python and PostgreSQL in the backend.
