Secrets error without having added the Secrets service

I can’t reproduce that error. I have tried:

• sending an email without Secrets
• storing the email address as a secret, decrypting, then sending an email to that address
• resetting the encryption key in the Secrets service and sending email
• deleting the Secrets service, attempting to send the secret email
• adding the Secrets service back again and sending email

All of this works as expected.

Can you provide more details, or better yet, a clone link of the application?

Vanishing Secrets

Ok, sequence of events as I remember them … I saved a project version and clicked “publish” in the timeline. All was good. In my mind this now meant I had a published live version and a dev version in my IDE. Is that correct? I renamed the project in my IDE and made a couple of cosmetic changes, but I did not publish this version. I refreshed my browser tab that was running the published version, logged back in, but when I tried to do anything (that involved retrieving a secret) I got an err…

Secrets Problems Again

Fixed it. Cloned it with git then removed the project’s secret service from anvil.yaml (a throwback to the app cloning I’m assuming). Works fine now. BUT - is there anyway to avoid such a palaver? It looks to me like deleting the secrets service leaves detritus under the bonnet which requires bowel surgery, if I may mix my metaphors.
