I agree.
Something similar, but more generic, was requested here:

When carrying out a data tables search, it would be useful to be able to specify which columns should be included in the results.

Ability to specify page size of data tables searches

When searching a data table, it would be useful to be able to specify the number of rows returned from the resulting iterator on each call. Alternatively, specifying the max number of server calls required to exhaust the iterator would work too.
