Hi there! You can drive the PayPal REST API from Server Modules. Between REST requests and HTTP endpoints, you can drive almost any API like this! (Obviously, if this post gets lots of Likes, or if you or anyone else with a support contract wants to sponsor this feature, we’d be happy to consider integrating a PayPal Service into Anvil, like the Stripe Service is. Alternatively, you could see if you could commission a PayPal-Anvil integration library from a third-party developer!)

Above is the response from @meredydd back in the day about Paypal integration, it was also the suggested method of integration.

Anvil is already very good at this and already built for using APIs, when implementing it from scratch is usually very hard.

Just glance it over and decide if you really want to keep trying the javascript route.
