Issue Description
We see quite inconsistent performance when starting our app. We narrowed it down to checking if a user is logged in. See below that some anvil.users.get_user() took over 3 seconds. I also see that in production logs this sometimes takes up to 8 seconds.
Environment
Dedidicated Server Plan
Keeps Server Running → True
Beta Datatables → True
Client Internet speed → ping 10ms, download 200
Server → ran at about 15% capacity at the time of testing
My guess
I guess is that those are some cold start issues. However judging by the logs this happens to frequently in a production environment for it to be a cold start issue.
Having said that, I havent found documentation of forum posts about the conditions when the persistent server “restarts”.
What are your experiences with such issues?
