Could we have freeform text tags that we can attach to the app list and use in the search filter?
The new stars are great for my primary apps, but I need some nuance to my filtering. I find myself using long, underscore riddled and daft app names just to be able to find anything.
I’m thinking in the style of some kanban boards (can’t think of an example now …) whereby you can create and label tasks.
This would be great!

This is now (finally) added. You can now add tags to your apps from the app list!
Usability: Suggest that the pick list be placed where all of its items are visible and accessible:
In the above list, I have 8 or 9 existing tags, none of them visible due to the pick list being almost completely off-screen.
Edit: Given the layout, there will always be a sizeable amount of space above the tags button, and even more to the left of the list. So, plenty of usable options.
